An unknown individual called an Ashland gas station and convenience store over the weekend and attempted to extort money through a threatening phone call.
The threatening call came in to the Chevron at 2500 Highway 66 on Saturday, said Ashland Police Chief Tighe O’Meara.
The individual calling stated they would “shoot up and blow up,” the store if they were not given the money in the register, he said. The incident was reported to the Ashland Police Department and is now under investigation.
O’Meara stated the store has not experienced a burglary or any other threats.
