Five dozen applicants were culled down to four finalists

Ashland.news staff report

The next superintendent will likely be announced during an online-only special session planned for Tuesday evening, following a vote on a new contract with the Ashland School Board.

School board members will meet for a special board meeting via Zoom from 8 to 8:30 p.m. to vote on a contract for a new superintendent. The board opened a search in the fall to replace Superintendent Samuel Bogdanove, who will retire in June.

There were 60 applicants for the position. Four were interviewed by a community interview panel made up of local individuals, including at least two students.

The board will meet for a special session, considered a regular board meeting, from 6 to 6:45 p.m. and then will meet as a work session, where they are not permitted to vote, on Feb. 22.
