Ashland town hall gathering, awards presentation on tap Wednesday evening

Event will feature Mayor Tonya Graham’s ‘State of the City’ address, naming of Volunteer Spirit and Public Service award winners

Ashland will host its 2026 town hall gathering starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in Mountain Avenue Theatre at Ashland High School, 201 S. Mountain Ave..

The event will feature Mayor Tonya Graham’s State of the City address, along with a short film highlighting major accomplishments from the past two years, according to a news release on the city website.

Two Ashlanders will be recognized with the city’s highest honors: the James M. Ragland “Volunteer Spirit” Community Service Award and the Alan C. Bates Public Service Award.

The press release says the annual event is aimed at giving the public an opportunity to engage directly with the Ashland City Council, staff and one another to “reflect on shared accomplishments and look ahead to the future.”

Free parking will be available in the lot at the corner of Mountain Avenue and Iowa Street.

The city will also broadcast the event on Rogue Valley Community Television (RVTV). People can also watch live or on demand via the RVTV app.

City leaders encouraged broad participation, emphasizing the event’s theme of community collaboration and unity, saying that Ashland is “better together.”
