Applications must be submitted by April 17

Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument officials are accepting applications for the annual Artist-In-Residence program through April 17, according to a news release.

Selected artists receive a one- to two-week residency at the monument during the early summer months, where they will spend time creating art while surrounded by the monument’s natural beauty. All artists are encouraged to apply, and no preference will be given to any style or medium, the release said.

“Each year we celebrate new perspectives,” monument assistant manager Joel Brumm said. “Artists have a unique viewpoint on these special areas, and they provide a fascinating window into our relationship with public lands.”

Two artists and an alternate will be selected based on their entry materials, residency proposal, professionalism, and creative vision.

After the residency concludes, artists will donate at least one digital copy of their completed work to the monument, which will hold the copyright for promotional use. The artists will retain a non-exclusive use copyright.

Those interested in getting an application can email [email protected], visit blm.gov/programs/national-conservation-lands/national-monuments/oregon-washington/cascade-siskiyou, or call 541-618-2320.

Detailed instructions are on the application form.
