Obituary: Amanda Louise (Butler) Pyle, 80, a longtime Rogue Valley resident and elementary school teacher, passed away Sept. 3 at Celia’s Hospice House in Medford. Teaching was not a “job” for Amanda — it was a passion. She is especially remembered for involving students in creative projects and also for giving every one of them a hug as they left her classroom at the end of each school day.

Obituary: Ann Brown, also known as Yoga Robiya, was born in Atlanta in 1927. She saved enough money to take a sabbatical and travel to India, where she met the spiritual teacher Osho Rajneesh and became his disciple. She died Aug. 14 at Celia’s House Hospice in Medford.

Gregory Michael Stanek, born June 28, 1962, passed away on July 31, 2024, at the age of 62. There will be no formal service. Greg will be laid to rest at the Stanek Family burial site in Ashland Cemetery.

Obituary: Lynn Shirley Oakland, age 79, formerly of Sacramento, passed away at home Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Mead, Colorado. Lynn grew up in Ashland, Oregon, and learned to be very independent and strong at a young age.
