Southern Oregon bluegrass band 33 String Drive will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Roxy Ann Winery, 3283 Hillcrest Road, Medford.
The band’s music draws from the hard-driving traditions of bluegrass and acoustic Americana, with a healthy dose of originals and arrangements. The band features Lily McCabe on fiddle, Jef Fretwell on guitar, Jeff Jones on mandolin, Rick Nelson on banjo, Holly Hurley on bass, and Bob Evoniuk on Dobro.

Ashland councilors Gina DuQuenne and Dylan Bloom on Wednesday gave Southern Oregon University students a lesson in how to express mutual admiration even while disagreeing. The councilors met with 15 students at Britt Hall to discuss voting, Ashland-centered topics and how to bridge the communication gap between the SOU campus and Ashland.
