A benefit concert for Ukraine

A benefit concert for Ukraine will be held 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Ashland High School Theatre, 201 S. Mountain Ave., Ashland.

Tickets are available for purchase at ASAP.booktix.com. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students more than 12 years old, and free for Ashland High School students who show their student ID. Call 541-840-6410 for more information.

The event will include:

* A benefit holiday tag sale

* A showing of a 21-minute film about Sviatohirsk, Ashland’s sister city

* Various speakers

* The benefit concert, performed by the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers.

Sen. Merkley wows an overflow crowd in Ashland

Sen. Jeff Merkley packed the Ashland High School gym Sunday for a town hall that highlighted his fight against “authoritarian” efforts by the Trump administration. About 1,200 filled the gym, while a line of people outside stretched two blocks and were too many to fit inside, according to Merkley aides.
