We hope you’ll help us invite Southern Oregonians concerned about the Valley’s future—in particular, about the well-being of families who are suddenly losing their food assistance benefits—to join us this Saturday morning in a new kind of event.
The flyer below describes the combined Food Drive/Oregon Senate Town Hall that we’re hosting at 10am Saturday, November 8, in the large Room of the main Medford Library.
This is one part of the growing community response to the interruption of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which some 750,000 Oregonians depend upon to avoid serious hunger. We’ll hear directly from Food Bank staff about what they’re facing before Sen. Golden speaks to the kind of response taking shape to this and other recent federal activity, along with other ideas surfacing in advance of the short 2026 Legislative Session.
While there’s talk that the SNAP program may be partially restored before we convene on Saturday, recent events make it clear that it’s important to fortify the capacity of local foods banks in preparation for whatever disruption lies ahead. That’s why we’re asking our neighbors to extend the generosity they typically show in times of crisis, so that our collective food donation can make a difference.
