ANPF Fall Festival Reading of LYONS PRIDE by Bleu Beckford-Burrell

October 20 @ 1:30 pm

$15 – $25

LYONS PRIDE
By Bleu Beckford-Burrell
Directed by Kyle Haden**

The Lyons household, struggling to stay afloat, doesn’t find itself lacking in pride. A family play, about living, love, identity and overcoming life challenges. The Lyons take you on a journey of not only what it means to be Jamaican and proud, but also the similarities we have in our families as immigrants in America. The play features an amazing cast that includes Kaci Hamilton, Omolade Wey*, Samantha Miller, Alex Michell, Shayne C. Powell*, Antonio Jeffries, and Leith Burke. Stage direction read by Tim Turner.

Bleu Beckford-Burrell is a first-generation Jamaican-American actor/playwright. Born and raised in New York City, she works for non-profit organizations where she teaches acting to teens, directs plays, and leads playwright workshops for adults.

Come be a part of the process as this new work comes to life through the magic of a dramatic reading. Be sure to stay for the talkbacks and share your insights with the artists.

(* Member of Actors Equity Association.)
(** The director is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, a national theatrical labor union.)
