Ashland cooling center

The National Weather Service forecasts excessive heat starting Sunday and continuing into the week.

A cooling center for anyone needing to get out of the heat will be open downstairs at the Ashland Public Library from 9 a.m. to noon and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10. (The library itself is open from noon to 5 p.m.)

The space will be managed by local volunteers coordinated by Avram Sacks; for more information, call 541-220-7307 or email [email protected].

Interested in helping? Join the volunteer orientation session from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the Guanajuato Room at the Ashland Public Library.
