Barry Kraft will read poems by Charlotte Mew and Louis MacNeice from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Bloomsbury Books, 290 E. Main St., Ashland.
Poetry happens, and keeps on happening. It accumulates. Poets who are published, say, during the 1970s in collections bearing titles such as “Today’s Poetry,” soon find themselves no longer “today’s” poets.
The avalanche of new poems doesn’t slow down, but can leave glistening patches behind. Two such bright patches are poems by Charlotte Mew (1869-1928) and Louis MacNeice (1907-1963). Please join Barry for a shared hour of acquaintance — or reacquaintance — with these two fine poets.
