Beaver Scavenger Hunt

In partnership with Project Beaver, the Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument will be holding a Beaver Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, June 1st. With the help of citizen-science volunteers, we will walk creeks and streams throughout the Monument looking for beaver sign to find out where the beavers are and what they are doing. The baseline date gathered during this event will help inform the strategies used to increase beaver populations in the Monument.

We are looking for hardy folks who feel comfortable bushwhacking through vegetation and walking on uneven terrain in and along waterways for several hours. While this will be hard work, you will get the opportunity to experience the Monument from a new, beautiful perspective! Volunteers will work in groups of 3 – 4 people, including a team leader. Team leaders will be responsible for recording data, locating the survey site, and carrying a first aid kit. If you are interested in being a team leader, please answer yes to the question when registering.

Lunch, a t-shirt, and training will be provided.

For any questions or clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out us at info@cascadesiskyou.org.

The Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument’s mission is to support the protection, restoration and conservation of the Monument through service, advocacy and education.
