Artist Beca Blake will hold a book release event from to 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Crooked Mile Gallery, 4495 S. Pacific Highway, No. 320, Phoenix.
The book, “Road Food: Survival in the Local Landscape,” is a 177-page hardcover photo book that documents performance art presentations made by Beca Blake and family during 2022, according to a news release.
“Interdisciplinary artist Beca Blake and family traveled the Pacific Northwest and Southwest states of North America while navigating personal crises and hardships, including a lack of housing, serious health concerns, financial struggles, domestic trauma, and the loss of loved ones during global pandemic illness and inflation,” the release says. “In addition to sharing a personal family narrative, the new series features topics of survival pertaining to the performance landscapes.”
Blake will be signing book copies and prints during the event.
