Annual Action Plan Available for Review The City of Ashland anticipates an annual allocation of $162,639 in Community Development Block Grant funds for Program Year 2025 (July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026) by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The City of Ashland Housing and Human Services Advisory Committee held a public hearing on March 27, 2025, to review the grant requests. Supporters of imprisoned wildland firefighter Brian “Hakiym” Simpson and a defense attorney who represented him in court are sending an almost 3,000-signature petition and letter to Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek, urging her to exonerate the 42-year-old and have him released from prison.
