ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
AGAVE is “an energized, free-spirited group” (Early Music America) based in the San Francisco Bay Area and specializing in string chamber music of the 17th-20th centuries. AGAVE has received numerous awards and accolades and gained local and national attention for its “rapturous music,” “brilliant… profound playing” (Early Music America), and growing discography. AGAVE continues its fruitful affiliation with star countertenor Reginald Mobley, teaming up for a program of composers of color from four centuries, all true American Originals. The program features music from 19th and 20th century United States, as well as Cuba, Mexico, and South America.
