The Peerless Hotel will open up the hotel, 243 Fourth St., Ashland, to the public from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28.
“Please join us for our first open house and an evening of fun, exploration, and entertainment,” a news release says. “The entire hotel will be open and available for all to explore, and if you ever wanted a full historic hotel tour, now is your chance.”
Food and beverages will be served, and the owners will be on site to talk about the hotel’s history. There also be a raffle.

The Oregon Department of Human Services is offering free emergency kits and power stations for older adults and qualified people with physical disabilities. The emergency kits include flashlights, blankets, first aid items, food and other supplies. The power stations are portable and have rechargeable batteries.
