Free holiday concerts from the New Song Singers

The New Song Singers will be performing free holiday concerts in December in Talent, Medford, and at the Rogue Valley Mall. The Singers are a multi-city group from all over the Rogue Valley.
They will be joined by the Evergreen Handbells playing beautiful classic carols on the bells. The concert will also feature the Neighborhood Puppets presenting a festive holiday story for children.
* Rogue Valley Mall: 6 p.m., Dec. 17
* New Song Church in Medford: 6 p.m., Dec. 20
* Lifegate Church in Talent: 2 p.m., Dec. 21
* New Song Medford: 6 p.m., Dec. 24

Nurses union alleges Asante policy causing staffing shortage

The Oregon Nurses Association, a nurses union, claims a new staffing policy at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center leaves hospitals understaffed and violates state law. Union representatives accuse Asante of requiring nurses to waive overtime and incentive pay to cover shortages, while Asante declined to address specific allegations, calling them “unfounded and inaccurate.”
