Maryum McKee nurtured yellow rose shoots on the long journey from Missouri to the Rogue Valley in 1853.
The Jacksonville Museum Quilters handcrafted a quilt in 1984 that tells the tale of the McKee family, their journey west, and their life in Jackson County and the Applegate Valley. The quilt was gifted to the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society in 2015. RVGS President Anne Billeter will share the quilt and the John and Maryum McKee pioneer family story.
