Green Debris Dropoff Day

If you live in Ashland and have yard debris such as leaves, pine needles, brush that you need to get rid off, Ashland Fire & Rescue and Recology Ashland will take them off your hands at an upcoming event. That event, the 12th annual Green Debris Drop Off Day, is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at the Valley View Transfer Station, 3000 N. Valley View Road, according to a news release. The intent is to create fire-adapted yards before fire season starts by reducing the amount of fuels that can help spread potential wildfires. The event is free for Ashland residents. Accepted materials include leaves, small branches, pine needles, and brush. Bags of debris need to be emptied on site. Prohibited materials include trash, stumps, logs, firewood, and treated lumber. Call 541-552-2231 or email brian.hendrix@ashland.or.us for more information.
