Guitar Society of Southern Oregon Presents Romanian Guitarist Dragoș Ilie!

The internationally acclaimed Dragoș Ilie brings an enchanting and intimate program to southern Oregon, inspired by the love of his home of Romania. Dragoș has delighted audiences across Europe, Asia, and the United States with his charismatic and dynamic performances.

Dragoș has received numerous grants for competing, performing, and studying guitar in his home country of Romania and abroad. He has placed in over 40 international competitions, winning more than 20 Grand Prizes. He has performed in and taught masterclasses and workshops across the United States and Europe, and has been featured in Classical Guitar Magazine, Gendai Magazine, and Acoustic Guitar Magazine. Performances with orchestras include the “Transylvania” State Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Radio Orchestra of Romania.

Indigenous youth call for worldwide dam removal with Klamath River Accord

Indigenous youth from around the globe signed a pact Sunday at the mouth of the Klamath River calling for the removal of dams around the world. It also came on the heels of the first source-to-sea descent of the Klamath River, which saw youth from various tribes kayak the river for the first time since four hydroelectric dams were removed in 2024.
