Handmade Holiday Workshop

Join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 87 4th St., in Ashland.

We provide craft materials and instruction, and you make your own gift-worthy masterpieces. Zero crafting skill and very little dough are needed to make simple gifts like holiday centerpieces and candles, fabulous jewelry, gingerbread houses, cozy little scarves, beaded light catchers, soup mix jars and more.

Free admission. Ticket purchases (cash only) cover costs of craft materials with most crafts priced $0.50 to $5. Lots of fun for both kids and adults.

Level Up: Airing differences, bridging gaps

Ashland councilors Gina DuQuenne and Dylan Bloom on Wednesday gave Southern Oregon University students a lesson in how to express mutual admiration even while disagreeing. The councilors met with 15 students at Britt Hall to discuss voting, Ashland-centered topics and how to bridge the communication gap between the SOU campus and Ashland.
