Local performer and guitar teacher Matt Dorris will be performing solo guitar works on a 19th-century period instrument replica. The program includes concert favorites and rare works that cover most styles of guitar composition from the early 19th century, along with insights into the composers, pieces, and the era.
Matt Dorris holds a Master’s degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from Southern Oregon University. While in Colorado, he was faculty at Front Range Community College, where he taught a wide variety of courses, including Music History, Music Appreciation, and World Music, among other classes. He has taught guitar at Front Range Community College and the University of Colorado.
