History buffs, ghost hunters, and everyone in between is invited to Jacksonville’s Haunted History tours, multiple one-hour events scheduled for the evening of August 11, which starts at the Jacksonville Visitor’s Center, 185 N. Oregon St., Jacksonville.
The historic tours are about real hauntings stemming from past events.
The stories—some scary, some benign—come from multiple sources, from people who have actually experienced these lingering spirits.
The tours cover about one mile and last about one hour hour. Attendees can choose from two different tours, each offered two times. The 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Courthouse route features brothels, epidemics, and hangings. The 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Britt Hill tours highlight murder, arson, saloons, and Oregon’s oldest Chinatown. And both tours have lots of haunted houses!
Tours are $10 per person and reservations are required. Tickets are available at www.historicjacksonville.org/haunted-history-tours.
