National Public Lands Day – Aspen Planting in the Monument

Join the Bureau of Land Management and the Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument for National Public Lands Day and make a difference! Volunteers will work in small groups planting Aspen trees in the Wildcat Campground area at Hyatt Lake in the Cascade – Siskiyou National Monument.

There are no special skills or experience needed to participate in the tree planting. Holes for the trees will be dug prior to the event, and participants will plant the trees, which are in five gallon containers, then back-fill and water the tree. The BLM will provide the tools, safety equipment, and guidance. Please wear close-toed shoes and long pants. Also, bring water and snacks and/or lunch. Some snacks and drinks will be provided.

We will meet at 9:00 AM at the Rite Aid in Ashland and make our way into the Monument from there. Carpooling is optional.

Friends of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument is a nonprofit organization and our mission is to support the protection, restoration and conservation of the monument through service, advocacy and education.
