Plants For Pollinators event

A native plant sale focused on pollinators will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at the Pollination Place, 312 N. Main St., Phoenix, according to a news release.

Guests include officials from Jackson County Library Servies, who will have information about pollinators and plants. The Native Plant Society of Oregon’s Siskiyou Chapter and Oregon State University Land Stewards will also attend.

Native plants will be available for purchase from from the Pollinator Project Rogue Valley, Klamath-Siskiyou Native Seeds, Dry Earth Nursery, and Cornucopia Acres.

SOU to host first Red Cross blood drive on campus in nearly two decades

After a 17-year hiatus and amid a strain on the nation’s blood supply, the Red Cross is returning to the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland this week for a two-day blood drive. The Red Cross will host its first blood drive since 2007 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the first floor Associated Students of Southern Oregon University (ASSOU) Lounge inside Stevenson Union.
