Public Menorah lighting

The Chabad Jewish Center of Southern Oregon will light a 10-foot public Hanukkah menorah at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, on the Ashland Plaza.

The event will feature a chocolate coin drop, music, latkes, and donuts. There will also be a Hanukkah gift shop with menorahs and candles for sale. The public event is being heralded as a response to the worrisome rise in antisemitic rhetoric online and elsewhere.
