Live and Online Daylong Teaching Event.
Drawing from nearly three decades of practice and their recent completion of the three-year Shangpa retreat cycle, devon and nico will guide us in discovering how real refuge transforms our relationship to fear, doubt, and the inevitable challenges of human existence. We’ll explore practices that help us recognize refuge as both our deepest aspiration and our most intimate reality.
Through meditation, discussion, and shared inquiry, we’ll examine questions like: What does it mean to take refuge in our own Buddha-nature? How do we cultivate unshakeable confidence while remaining genuinely open? And how can the profound refuge practices of Vajrayana support us in meeting whatever arises with presence and grace?
This teaching is designed to be accessible for practitioners at all levels, whether you’re new to Vajrayana or have years of experience. No prior knowledge of specific practices is required—only an open heart and genuine interest in exploring what it means to find true refuge in these times.
devon and nico hase completed the three-year Shangpa retreat cycle last year, under the guidance of Lama Drubgyu Tenzin and Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. They have spent years in retreat in the Insight, Zen, and Vajrayana traditions. They teach online and in-person, mentor meditation teachers, lead retreats at Insight Meditation Society, Spirit Rock and other centers, and work one-on-one with long-term students.
