Road Food: Survival in the Local Landscape book launch

Enjoy fine art and critical thinking discussions on contemporary art at Crooked Mile Gallery in Phoenix, Oregon, during the first-ever book launch for “Road Food: Survival in the Local Landscape” with local Phoenix artist Beca Blake.

“Road Food: Survival in the Local Landscape,” is an impulsive performance art series produced by artist and author Beca Blake during an exploratory search for survival
in 2022 as a single mother with two children.

Set in a post-pandemic cybernetic consumer world, the family performed with novelty rood blankets bought on Amazon.com. They conducted a statement of survival in relation to consumption, place, time, and humanity in rural and urban settings while traveling past artifacts of culture in the western states of America. The performances happened spontaneously in a variety of places, both cosmopolitan and majestic along tearful trails and grateful footsteps of ancients and contemporaries. The Road Food Elucidated Edition, provides a written narrative of the journey.
