Shakespeare’s Birthday Party

Celebrate William Shakespeare’s 460th birthday at the Ashland Library!

This free, all-ages event will include crafts, live Renaissance music from Musica Matrix, a talk on Designing Shakespeare from OSF staff, a Shakespeare Open Mic, mask making and improv for kids, a prize drawing, and of course, cake!

Schedule of events:
12pm-12:45pm: Renaissance Music Concert with Musica Matrix
1pm-2pm: Designing Shakespeare Lecture
1pm-3pm: Mask Making for Kids
2:30pm-3:30pm: Spontaneous Shakespeare, Improv for ages 9-14*
2:30pm-3:30pm: Shakespeare Open Mic
3:30pm-4pm: Cupcakes and Prize Drawing
All day: Shakespeare-themed crafting for all ages.

Obituary: Clayton Samuel Gordon Jr. passed away peacefully on Aug. 19 at the age of 101. Clayton Gordon enjoyed volunteering at the downtown information booth together with his wife, Betty. He encouraged visitors to drink from the infamous Lithia water fountain in the Plaza.
