Siskiyou Singers’ December concerts will feature the stirring harmonies of Rachmaninoff’s choral masterpiece, the Vespers (also known as the All-Night Vigil) a beautiful and spiritual setting of traditional sacred texts appropriate to the season.
The second half of each concert includes holiday favorites sure to leave you with a warm glow. Musicologist Ed Wight will present a free lecture about the music an hour before the Friday and Saturday concerts. The concerts take place at SOU’s Music Recital Hall, 450 S. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Tickets are $25 (or $5 for students and Oregon Trail Card holders) and are available on-line, at the Music Coop or Paddington Station in Ashland, from singers, and at the door.
