SOU 5k Glow Run to Benefit the American Cancer Society

Southern Oregon University’s Pre-healthcare Society is hosting a 5K Glow Run/walk to benefit the American Cancer Society. This event is a fun way to raise money for those affected by cancer. It will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 20 at the Raider Stadium, 379 Wightman St., Ashland.

The theme is “GLOW,” and we will provide glowsticks and glow paint! It will start at the stadium, go down to the bike path, loop around, and end back at the stadium. There will be a ceremony where everyone can decorate luminary bags, line them around the track, and put battery-operated candles inside to honor those affected by cancer. The event will take place rain or shine.

Cancer survivors and those fighting cancer are free. Activities like bracelet making, nail painting, etc., will take place while the run is going on, so those not running have something to do until the luminary ceremony.
