The Rewards & Challenges of Slowing Down with Lisa Frank

November 21 @ 7:00 pm

Free

Slowing down is worthwhile, possible, practical, and can be super challenging! Many of us dream of slowing down, but find it difficult to apply, especially during the holidays and with the pressures of modern-day life. In this interactive presentation, explore what intentionally slowing down could look like for you and five practices to take a slower path.

Lisa Frank, founder of Camino Coaching & Consulting, delivers counter-intuitive and awareness-building presentations and workshops. During her eight years at NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement, she built teams of subject matter experts to develop global best practices. Before that, Lisa managed the University Lecture Series at Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned a Masters in Public Management. Lisa received her Bachelor of Music in Performance from Indiana University, and now lives in Ashland, where she plays cello with the Rogue Valley Symphony.

Here comes the boom: ‘Exploding stuff can be fun’

Exploding gummy bears, self-carving pumpkins, elephant toothpaste and plumes of fire from erupting chemical reactions, oh my! Students and members of the public filed into the Science Auditorium on Friday afternoon — not for a lecture, but for the annual “Fall into Chemistry” live demonstration at Southern Oregon University.
