Join the Rogue Valley Symphonic Band (RVSB) and Artistic Director and Conductor Dr. Alexander Gonzalez for RVSB’s FREE May “THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND” Concert. This year’s May concert will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 3:00 PM PDT at SOU Music Recital Hall, Ashland, Oregon.
This promises to be a special concert cycle as the Rogue Valley Symphonic Band (RVSB) commemorates the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (VE Day), marking the end of World War II in Europe. (As a reminder, Germany surrendered in May 1945, with Japan following suit in August of 1945.) The world will honor this anniversary on May 8th, 2025, and RVSB will perform our tribute concert on Saturday, May 17th to acknowledge this auspicious date in history.
Patriotic music to be performed will include “Let Freedom Ring”, “Commando March”, and the “Star Spangled Banner”, which we rarely perform in our concert repertoires. This concert will prove to be a patriotic celebration of what we all should be thankful for, honoring our Veterans and citizens.
