Unity Community Of Ashland Presents Gangaji January 19th, 11 AM

Interfaith spiritual center Unity Community Of Ashland is proud to present spiritual teacher and author Gangaji on January 19th at 11 am. Gangaji will offer a talk and interactive audience participation at UCOA’s 11 AM service. Service is from 11 AM to 12:30 PM and includes music presented by recording artist and minister Rev. Kathy Zavada.

Gangaji, born Toni Roberson, grew up in Mississippi. Like many of her contemporaries, she searched for fulfillment through relationships, career, motherhood, subculture experiences, political activism, and spiritual practice. While she had never planned to go to India, it was on the banks of the Ganges River that her search ended. In 1990, Gangaji met her teacher, Sri H.W.L. Poonja. Today, as a teacher and author, Gangaji speaks to people from all walks of life inviting them to fully recognize the absolute freedom and unchanging peace that is the truth of one’s being.

Gangaji is the author of The Diamond in Your Pocket: Discovering Your True Radiance; Hidden Treasure: Uncovering the Truth in Your Life Story; Freedom and Resolve: The
Living Edge of Surrender; and You are That Volume 1 & 11.

Unity Community Of Ashland was founded by Rev. Kathy Zavada and offers Sunday services each week at 11 AM at the Havurah, 185 N. Mountain Ave. Rev. Kathy is an Interfaith Minister and recording/performing artist of sacred music. She will be offering music at this special event with Gangaji. Bill Thorndike Jr. remembered as community titan, treasured friend

Family, community members and longtime friends of Medford native Bill Thorndike Jr. were collectively at a loss for words over the weekend at the sudden loss of a man they say had a hand in nearly anything good to happen in Southern Oregon for much of the past half-century. Thorndike, 71, suffered a heart attack early Saturday morning, just following a Valentine’s Day spent with his wife, Angela Thorndike, at a family cabin on Whidbey Island in Washington’s Puget Sound.
