Walk As One At 1

World Labyrinth Day will be recognized in Ashland during the Walk As One At 1 event, held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Trinity Garden Labyrinth, 44 N. Second St., Ashland.

You are invited to join thousands of people across the planet to participate during the sixteenth annual World Labyrinth Day, when labyrinth when labyrinth walkers will be creating a rolling wave of peaceful energy passing from one time zone to the next across the globe.

Trinity Episcopal Church invites everyone to the free nondenominational event.No registration is required. Veriditas-trained Labyrinth Facilitators Sara Hopkins (Trinity Episcopal Church) and Elizabeth Austin (Ashland United Methodist Church) will facilitate, offering information and guidance to assist everyone in the labyrinth experience. Whether you are familiar with labyrinths or new to the idea of labyrinth paths, all are welcome (including children under 12 when accompanied by a parent or guardian), to learn more and take part. Local co-sponsors are Anima Mundi Productions, Ashland United Methodist Church, Dromenon: Inner Pilgrimages for Modern Times, Peace House, and Peace Village Festival.

Women’s basketball: SOU wins, advances to Sioux City

In Friday night’s 86-52 first-round win over UC Merced at Lithia Motors Pavilion, the Raiders made it look routine. The task gets taller, literally and figuratively, in Saturday’s 5 p.m. second-round matchup against No. 7 seed Wayland Baptist (Texas).
