The acclaimed film “We Are Guardians,” which details activism in the rainforest, will be screened 7 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, July 15, at the Varsity Theatre, 166 E Main St., Ashland.
Southern Oregon Pachamama Alliance will co-host the screening, which takes viewers to the heart of the Brazilian Amazon and the fight to protect it. The film follows Indigenous forest guardians as they risk their lives to defend ancestral lands from relentless invasions and deforestation.
The film, to be released on streaming platforms worldwide in October, is currently on Netflix Latin America, but the filmmakers wanted to share it first, on the big screen, with their Southern Oregon community.
