Willi Carlisle with special guest DUG presented by the Ashland Folk Collective

For folksinger Willi Carlisle, singing is healing. And by singing together, he believes we can begin to reckon with the inevitability of human suffering and grow in love. On his latest album, Critterland, Carlisle invites audiences to join him: “If we allow ourselves to sing together, there’s a release of sadness, maybe even a communal one. And so for me personally, singing, like the literal act of thinking through suffering, is really freeing,” he says.

DUG

Started in October 2023, DUG is the new musical venture of songwriter Lorkin O’Reilly and California native Jonny Pickett.

Having spent the past decade in Upstate NY releasing albums and touring extensively, Conor (Lorkin O’Reilly) moved to Dublin in 2022 to start a new musical chapter. Drawing inspiration from both Irish and American traditional music, DUG aims to create a transatlantic blend that reflects the musical heritages of both its members.
