Riding Beyond nonprofit hosts fundraiser at its Rising Hope Stables; registration still available through Friday, July 4
Ashland.news staff report
For those looking to expand their Fourth of July weekend activities and get out in nature, Riding Beyond’s Rising Hope Stables in Ashland will host an interactive event with horses on Saturday, July 5.
The ticketed event, held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rising Hope Stables, 2007 East Hills Drive, Ashland, is part of “Saturdays at the Farm,” a series of events that foster human/horse connection, providing a therapeutic space for individuals who have been through trauma a chance to meditate, share and interact with horses in a therapeutic way, as reported in a previous Ashland.news story.
Trish Broesma, executive director of Riding Beyond, said the July 5 event will include interaction with horses onsite, promoting “learning what the natural world has to teach us, deepening our kinship with creative art and interaction together,” all in the spirit of the Founding Fathers, who “faced the challenges of their times by creating something brand new (Democracy).”
“Come explore how we might creatively respond to the challenges of our current times,” Broesma said in a flyer about the event.
Tickets are $50 each, but scholarships are available. For more information and to register, go to ridingbeyond.org/events/.
Riding Beyond offers meditative interaction with horses for those who have experienced breast cancer, COVID-19, impacts from the Almeda Fire and those recovering from other life challenges.
