The 22nd annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival presented by KS Wild and Rogue Riverkeeper is coming to Ashland and Grants Pass in April. The film festival will feature a lineup of award-winning environmental and conservation films focused on stories of activism, traditional ecological knowledge, protecting clean water and highlighting recreation in the places we live in and love.

This year’s festival is extra special as it is back in person for the first time in five years, providing a chance for Southern Oregon folks to come together and be inspired by the powerful films and the collective excitement and advocacy of the community. The event will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Historic Ashland Armory and 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at Grants Pass Performing Arts Center.

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival has unveiled its video trailer highlighting some of their full lineup of over 100 environmental and adventure films.
Meet conservation groups

In addition to the films, local organizations will have tables to share their conservation and restoration visions, and there will be a raffle featuring amazing getaways, local goodies, art, and some awesome outdoor gear. Local food and drinks will also be available for purchase at both events before films and during intermission. Check out the menu for each event when purchasing tickets at siskiyoufilmfest.org.

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival unites the community to inspire environmental awareness and action through film. This year’s program combines superb filmmaking, breathtaking cinematography, and second-to-none storytelling to inform, inspire, and help actualize change. At the heart of this event is an effort to motivate people to take action through films. We hope that all attendees of the film festival will sign our petition to safeguard the Rogue River Watershed, including the steep and rugged old-growth forests that line the wild Rogue River.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased through the festival website at siskiyoufilmfest.org/tickets. Email inquiries about tickets can be sent to allee@kswild.org.

KS Wild is proud to host this festival, which is the largest community event of the year for us, helping to sustain integral conservation programs that protect the best and restore the rest. We wouldn’t be able to put this event on with the support from our sponsors: Full Circle Real Estate, Paula Fong Illustrations, Herb Pharm, Mark Flynn Century21, Sunday Afternoons, SOPBS, Rogue Law Firm, Anne Golden Consultation, AllCare of Grants Pass, Dan the Backhoe Man, Southern Oregon Mediation, Ashland Food Co-op, Mycorrhizal Applications, Sun Spirit Farms and RiseUp! Artisan Bread.

KS Wild Side appears every month and features a staff member from KS Wild, a regional conservation organization based in Ashland. Allee Gustafson works as the events & volunteer manager for KS Wild. For more information go to kswild.org.
