Kenyans have soundly rejected draconian new taxes on foods, vehicles and — most important — energy.
Human flourishing requires energy. Energy for electricity, LP gas for cooking to replace wood and dung. Energy to build roads. Energy is in everything you touch or do.
CO₂ is an issue, but human flourishing is No. 1. To climate activists in developed countries I say: You first. When your carbon footprint is lower than that of a poor person in Africa, then you can talk.
