Letter: ‘Much of the younger generation audience loved the play’

June 30, 2022

The review of “Revenge Song” belonged on the Op-Ed page. It was harsh, and the judgments expressed reflected a point of view perhaps not in tune with a Vampire Cowboys Creation.

The story is based on an historical figure with many liberties taken. I saw the play and, while it didn’t reflect my life experiences as a 75-year-old, I enjoyed the artistry and talent. Not being a fan of or knowledgeable about graphic novels, computer games, and superheroes, I wouldn’t attempt to write a review of this play. I’ve told others my age that if they plan to see it, go to the preface to understand the context.

It was clear from the level of cheering that much of the younger generation audience loved the play and related to it. I would like to read a review written by someone who is not a baby boomer.

Bronze pours are special events in the art world. Always at night, the hot, molten bronze is poured into a sculpture mold. The fiery metal lights up the sky and the casting is surrounded, at a safe distance, by a crowd.
