Letter: Palestinians have the right to defend themselves

Since 1948 and the founding of the State of Israel, Americans have been taught that Israel has a right to defend itself.

But we have rarely been told that Palestinians have a right to defend themselves.

Israel is a colonial and occupying power. Palestinians, as the colonized victims, have every legal, moral and political right to resist and defend themselves against the genocidal siege and slaughter now underway in Gaza.
