“Nearly 5,000 Providence Health & Systems nurses and other professionals walked off their jobs Friday in the largest strike by health workers in state history — and the first involving unionized doctors.” (Ashland.news, Jan. 10).
While hedge funds and rich corporate interests are buying up hospitals across the country and cutting services and staff to increase their profits, the well-being of hospital staff and patients is undermined. This affects us all. Therefore, the historic strike by Providence Health nurses and other professionals should be supported.
