I attended the Ashland Parks and Recreation meeting last week and one of the topics was fees.
The Little League volunteers asked the Parks and Recreation commissioners to hit the “pause” button until more data is collected before changing the fee structure. Note: The fees would not change until July 1, after the groups have paid their fees for the season.
This seemed perfectly reasonable to me, but the commissioners voted in a $2.50 per participant fee.
Why? When we are trying to encourage young families to move to Ashland (help our schools, etc.), you raise the fees? The golf course has 40 members. When was the last time their fees were raised?
