National Weather Service forecasts more than an inch and a half of rain, impacts possible across Southwest Oregon
Ashland.news staff report
Forecasters with the National Weather Service expect moderate to heavy rain in and around Ashland on Thursday and Friday.
Officials said the Medford area could see more than an inch and a half on Thursday and Friday, which raises concerns about travel conditions, including ponding on roadways, reduced visibility for drivers, and the potential for rock and mudslides.
Forecasters said the areas most impacted by the rainfall would be Josephine, Coos, and Douglas counties.
Snow levels are forecast to rise to between 6,500 and 8,000 feet, limiting winter impacts to higher elevations.
The weather service is urging people to regularly check updated weather forecasts and watch for potential flood warnings.
