Previous deputy and interim city manager Sabrina Cotta’s official employment contract to take the position of city manager will be up for approval by council during the Tuesday business meeting, according to meeting materials.
The contract — available online — details compensation of level 5, or $196,694, according to the city’s city manager payscale. The contract also stipulates compensation and benefits such as 80 hours per year of administrative leave, a $400 monthly vehicle allowance and support for professional development opportunities. If approved during the meeting, Cotta’s term as city manager will officially begin Oct. 1, according to the contract.
Cotta was appointed city manager in a 5-to-1 vote during the Aug. 20 council meeting, as previously reported by Ashland.news.
In other council business Tuesday, council will vote on whether to approve a contract to lease the building at 2245 YMCA Way in order to better accommodate the city’s finance department, review a request to appropriate $408,025 in additional revenue for this biennium from a settlement regarding the state of Oregon and companies involved in the opioid crisis and the city’s recently completed helicopter logging project. Council will also hear a presentation on the fourth quarter of the city’s preliminary finance results.
As part of the consent agenda, council will also vote on whether to approve the updated hazard mitigation plan.
The Monday study session will feature the electric system master plan, a plan for the city’s system created after a council-approved study of the system by Stoddard Power Systems, according to meeting materials.
The meetings will be held in the Ashland City Council chamber, 1175 East Main St. The study session Monday begins at 5:30 p.m., while the Tuesday business meeting begins at 6 p.m.
Both meetings can be attended in person or watched remotely through Channel 9 or Channels 180 and 181 (Charter Communications) or live streamed via rvtv.sou.edu select RVTV Prime.
Public testimony will be accepted and can be delivered either via Zoom, in person, or as written comment. To sign up for public comment, fill out the public testimony form.
