Talent’s failing water meter system needs replacement, funding uncertain

Repeated failures in the reading of water meter radio signals have Talent city officials looking to replace both the signal devices and the meters. The money to pay for the work could come from $825,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds that were originally budgeted to rehabilitate the city’s skate park and to move the tennis and pickleball courts in Chuck Roberts Park.

Reinvented Pump House in Talent expected to open in March

Pump House 2.0 is expected to open in March, combining elements of both the original Pump House which closed last fall and the short-lived Rogue Taqueria at the corner of Talent Avenue and East Main Street in downtown Talent. Owners Jeven Showers and Garth Evey say they hope customers will agree it is the best of both worlds.

Talent Council calls for ceasefire in Israel-Palestine war

The Talent City Council sent a letter last week to Oregon elected leaders urging an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East and an end to military aid to Israel. Councilor Jason Clark drafted the one paragraph letter that was endorsed by the Talent City Council and signed by Mayor Darby Ayers-Flood.
