Garland R. Shinn, 92, left this earth to meet his Lord and Savior on Jan. 23.

Shinn was born Oct. 2, 1931, in Grass Valley, California, to parents Archie and Iola (Eisley) Shinn. He married Roberta (Kline) Shinn, Aug. 4, 1956, in Stockton, California. They celebrated 67 years of marriage.

Garland was a well-known and loved pastor at various churches in the Pacific Northwest for many years.

The celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Ashland Bible Church, 400 Dead Indian Memorial Road. He will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony in Rock Point Pioneer Cemetery in Gold HIll.

Garland is survived by his wife, Roberta; sons Garland (Margie) Shinn Jr. of Wilsonville, Oregon, and Nate (Muriel) Shinn of Phoenix; daughters Rhoda (Tom) Denning of Gold Beach, Oregon, and Rachel (Brent) Olstad of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home is handling arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to either Fir Point Bible Conference Grounds, 760 Fir Point Lane, Glendale, Oregon, 97442 or Northwest Independent Church Extension, P.O. Box 2225, Sumner, Washington 98390.
