July 27, 1944 — May 8, 2024

On May 8, 2024, Robert (Bob) William Green, 79, passed away surrounded by his loved ones, after bravely undergoing open heart surgery on April 3, 2024.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet Green (Bernhardt); his cherished older sister, Clara Blackwell, and his two beloved sons, Trent and Brian.

Robert came into the world on July 27, 1944, to proud parents Robert F. and Mildred E. Green (Gantz), in Trenton, New Jersey.

Growing up in the tranquil surroundings of Hopewell, New Jersey, he often recounted stories that painted a picture of an idyllic childhood.

After graduating from high school, Bob embarked on a journey westward to Missoula, Montana, where he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Silviculture from The University of Montana in 1966. His mother, ever the caring soul, made sure he was equipped for his adventure, packing his trunk with essentials like toilet paper and toothpaste.

Bob found his niche in the timber industry, dedicating his career to companies such as the Anaconda Company, Crowne Zellerbach, Diamond Match Company, and DAW Forrest Products.

During his time at the University of Montana, he met Sandra Jean Ashton, and their union in 1966 brought forth their son Trent, followed by Brian in 1969. The family traversed Montana as Bob pursued his career opportunities.

In 1989, with their sons grown, Bob embarked on a new professional venture in Medford, Oregon. Unfortunately, his marriage to Sandy ended during this transition. However, fate had more in store for Bob when he crossed paths with Janet Bernhardt in Medford, leading to their marriage in 1991.

Together, they managed a very successful property management company and called Medford their home. They embraced life’s adventures, creating lasting memories exploring the Oregon coast and fishing for salmon while traveling in their RV.

Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
