The final paperwork for potential candidates running for office in Ashland during the November election is being processed by the Jackson County Clerk’s office and will be ready soon, according to city of Ashland Interim Recorder Alissa Kolodzinski. The deadline to file for candidacy was Monday, Aug. 19.

“Once the County lets me know which candidates have enough signatures, I email the candidate with an Acceptance of Nomination form. Once I get that form back, I will update the website to move folks from ‘Initiated the process’ to ‘Official Candidate,’” Kolodzinski wrote in an email Monday.

On the city website Wednesday, only four official candidates were listed: Mayor Tonya Graham for the office of mayor, Douglas Knauer for council position 1, Councilor Gina DuQuenne for council position 5 and Mike Gardiner for Parks & Recreation Commission position 1.

Potential candidates or those who have “initiated the candidacy process” for council included Councilor Jeff Dahle and Kelly Marcotulli for council position 2 and Dylan Bloom and Eric Navickas for council position 3. Potential candidates for the APRC commissioner seat included Rick Vann, Ian Cropper and Daniel Weiner.
